Soya Milk

Soya milk is widely used as a vegan alternative to dairy milk. But what is soy milk? How is it made? Is it healthy? How does it compare to other plant-based milks such as rice milk and coconut milk? Totally Vegan Buzz brings you the ultimate guide to soya milk.

Our Soya Milk

Made from soybeans, soy milk is high in protein and balanced in carbs and fat.

These days it seems as if the nondairy milk section is getting pretty crowded. The original plant-based alternative, soy milk, is still going strong, but you may be wondering how it stacks up against other popular picks, like almond, and more trendy sips, like oat, and whether or not it’s actually safe for both women and men. Here’s what you need to know to make the right choice for your diet.

Soya ‘milk’ is a common dairy alternative, but is it really good for you? We asked a nutritionist to take a closer look at the pros and cons of this drink.

Soya or soy milk is a plant-based milk made from soybeans. To make, soybeans are washed and soaked in water. The ground mixture is boiled and filtered to get a smooth consistent liquid. Soya milk is a natural byproduct of the tofu industry.

What is soy milk?

Soy milk is a type of plant milk. It is 100% plant-based and it doesn’t contain cholesterol at all. I love to use it for baking because it has a thicker texture than other types of plant milk.

Is soy milk good for you?

Yes, it is! Unless you can’t consume soy or it feels heavy in your stomach, soy milk is perfectly fine for consumption. Just remember – if the milk has been in the fridge for some time and it smells bad, don’t drink it.
